Puppy Program · Nokomis & North Venice

The best time to
start good habits is
right now.

Puppies need more than a walk. They need structure, patience, and consistent care from someone who understands how young dogs learn — and who genuinely enjoys the chaos that comes with them.

Every puppy visit includes

  • Age-appropriate walks and potty breaks
  • Consistent routine to reinforce good habits
  • Positive, patient handling every visit
  • Feeding and fresh water on your schedule
  • Photo and detailed update after every visit
  • Notes on behavior, progress, and any concerns

What's Included

More than walks.
A proper start.

Puppies aren't just small dogs. They have different needs, shorter attention spans, and a very small window where the habits they form will stick with them for life. The puppy program is built around that reality.

Every visit follows a consistent structure — the same routine, the same handling approach, the same expectations. That consistency is what helps puppies learn. A different stranger every time does the opposite.

After every visit you get a detailed update — not just a quick photo but actual notes on how the walk went, what your puppy did well, and anything worth knowing. You're always in the loop.

Stage 1
🐣

Early Weeks

8 – 16 weeks

Short, gentle outings focused on exposure and comfort. New sights, sounds, and surfaces — all at a pace that builds confidence without overwhelming.

Stage 2
🌱

Building Habits

4 – 6 months

Longer walks with consistent leash manners and potty routine reinforcement. This is where good habits get locked in — or where bad ones start if the routine isn't consistent.

Stage 3
🐕

Growing Up

6 – 12 months

More energy, more curiosity, more everything. Walks get longer and more structured as your puppy transitions toward the daily walk routine that will carry them into adulthood.

Why Routine Matters

Puppies learn from
repetition.

The single most important thing for a young dog is consistency. Same walker, same routine, same expectations — every single visit. That's what the puppy program is built on.

Vanda doesn't just show up and walk your puppy. She follows your routine, reinforces your rules, and gives you a real report after every visit so you can see the progress.

  • Same walker every visit — no strangers
  • Consistent handling approach that supports your training
  • Potty break structure reinforced every visit
  • Calm, patient energy that puppies respond to
  • Detailed behavioral notes after every walk
  • Feeding and water on your schedule
  • Multiple daily visits available for young puppies

Who It's For

For anyone who wants their puppy to start right.

💼

Working Owners

You got a puppy and now you're back at work. Young dogs can't hold it all day and they shouldn't have to. Multiple midday visits keep the potty routine consistent and the crate time manageable.

🏠

First Time Dog Owners

Not sure what a good puppy routine looks like? Vanda has seen hundreds of puppies come through their early months. She'll tell you what's working and what to watch for — every visit.

High Energy Breeds

Some puppies have more energy than a single morning walk can handle. Extra midday visits burn off the excess so you come home to a manageable dog instead of a tornado.

🎓

Owners in Training Classes

Already working with a trainer? Great. Vanda reinforces the same approach between sessions so your puppy gets consistent messages from every person in their life — not mixed signals.

👨‍👩‍👧

Busy Families

Kids, schedules, activities — life gets complicated. Having reliable midday puppy care takes one thing completely off the list so the whole family can breathe a little easier.

Questions & Answers

Things new puppy

New puppy owners have a lot of questions — and that's completely normal. Here are the ones we hear most often. If yours isn't here, just call or text us directly.

Just got a puppy?

The earlier you get a routine established the better. Reach out and we'll set up a meet and greet so we can get started before the chaos takes over.

We can start working with puppies from eight weeks old. Early visits are short and gentle — focused on exposure and comfort rather than long walks. The goal at that age is building confidence, not burning energy.
Very young puppies often need three to four visits per day — they simply can't hold it for long stretches. As they get older the frequency reduces. We'll figure out the right schedule for your puppy's age and your situation at the meet and greet.
Yes — and this is important. Consistency across everyone in your puppy's life is what makes training stick. Tell us your approach, your rules, and what you're working on, and we'll reinforce the same things every visit.
Accidents happen — especially with young puppies. We clean up thoroughly, note it in your update, and adjust the visit schedule or routine if needed. No drama, no judgment. It's part of the process.
Walk length is based on your puppy's age. A good rule of thumb is five minutes per month of age — so a three month old puppy needs about 15 minutes. We never push a young dog further than they should go.
More than a quick photo. You get a full text update — how the walk went, whether your puppy went to the bathroom, mood and energy level, anything they did well, and anything worth watching. You'll always know exactly how your puppy is progressing.
Usually somewhere around six to twelve months depending on the breed and the individual dog. There's no hard cutoff — we transition naturally as your dog matures and their needs change. Most puppy program clients become long-term daily walk clients.

Ready to Get Started?

The sooner you start,
the better the habits.
